This song is so very sad and prophetic, and if like one or two of the comments, you don't get it. Thers no hope for you. Perhaps in another age whaling was more for food etc. But in the 20th and 21st centuries, its totally UNFORGIVABLE. Shame on the countries that still do it. To be honest, how can we in Britain say too much, we're still hunting foxes and digging badgers etc. One day we may wake up and try to stop cruelty like hunting and whaling etc. 🦊🦡🐾🇺🇦🇬🇧

Sehr schön, obwohl mir die der deutschen Sprache ungebeugte Übersetzung der englischen Original-Version besser gefällt.

Herman hat mir mit diesem Lied als Jugendliche Verständnis für meinen Schmerz geschenkt! Ich bin ihm heute noch dankbar dafür und bin sehr froh, daß es ihn gibt und er zu mir fand! Ich liebe Dich Herman van Veen! Möge Gott immer mit Dir sein! ❤️
